We are on our first Family Vacation

Here we are on vacation having a great time. Brianna is a pretty good camper. The first couple nights were a little rough but after adjusting the sleeping situation she is doing great. This is our first campsite at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park (near Thunder Bay, Ontario). It's been really beautiful. We did some great hikes, kayaked the lake and enjoyed the local wildlife which included the ducks which practically played with Brianna and her toys and the otters that swam by every night at the same time. The sound of the distant Loons put us to sleep every night. Ahhh.

More to come when we get back. This will be our only internet access and it's pretty slow (that's why the pics are small). It poured on us ALL Day today. We packed up in the rain, drove to Wawa, Ontario and got a hotel. Tomorrow starts another 5 days of sunshine though so we'll be back out in the wild again. We will attempt kayak camping on an island on an inland lake. =)

Fell asleep watching the olympics

Brianna laid here for the longest time watching diving before she finally fell asleep. She really likes to watch any sort of water sport. She really liked water polo and swimming last week. Now she is into diving.

Peek-a-boo

Sleeping in Mom's sleeping bag So, we bought this inflatable kayak and left the plugs sitting at home! We ended up using the plugs from the seats for the boat so we could at least check it out even though it was a little uncomfortable.

She likes it! She won't let Mom paddle but at least she likes it. =) Oh, and we are sitting like this because we have no seats.

4th Annual Lost and Found!!

For those who may not know this is a favorite among our Youth Group students. We blind fold them, drive them to a destination and drop them off with a clue of where to go next. Then they have to complete stage games/obstacles to get there next clue, and there next, etc. It is tiring, frustrating, and A LOT of fun!! They keep coming back so it must be.
Every year we have one event that is really frustrating. We never know what it is going to be. Last year, it was ladder ball and Chutes and Ladders (depending on which team you were on). This year was buried treasure. We buried there clues in tin cans as well as their lunch money. 45 gold dollar coins we buried...and they each only found THREE! $3 to buy lunch for 7 people! YIKES. So, either we didn't know how to use the metal detectors or it was just WAY harder than we expected. The yellow team never found there clue. I buried it, and tried to dig it up and couldn't find it myself!!! Sorry everyone, it really was not supposed to be that hard. There are 36 gold coins STILL buried at tunnel park if anyone is interested!
