In action...

Brianna just starting doing this funny thing with her mouth. Sometimes she just opens and closes her mouth and sometimes she adds "a song" like here. =)

Gettin' Around, Gettin' into things...

Brianna is loving her walker. She is getting pretty good at getting around. She can actually follow me around the house now which is cute. I put things out on chairs and leave drawers open for her so she can pick things up as she goes. She thinks this drawer is the funniest thing. She has also unplugged a cord out of an outlet! If I leave things laying out (like the curtains above that were drying) she gets into it.

Sweet...

Standing up!!

Brianna was sitting in her little wood chair playing her "Grand Piano" when she lunged forward and pulled herself up to standing on the piano! I was shocked. It happened so fast. Then she pulled herself/walked around the piano (with a little balance support from me) to get to the fun stuff on the back of it. She's going to be mobile soon!

First Bike Ride

Uncle Zach took Emma and Brianna for a bike ride around the block. I can't say Brianna really liked or disliked it. I think she was trying to figure out what was going on. She watched Emma most of the time. We'll have to get a trailer and a helmet for her!!

Happy Birthday Emma, Dad and Me!

Meijer Gardens: Tea Party with her cousins

Underdogs at 6 months old!

I swung her pretty high and on the way down she would get this scared look on her face, then she would laugh. She is even going hangs free already. A true Roller Coaster girl. ha, ha.

Spider Story

So, most of you probably know I have a pretty bad fear/phobia of spiders. I had recently decided that I really need to get over it for Brianna's sake...and Jeremy's so there aren't two people in the house freaking out over a spider. After this morning I decided I am NOT up for the challenge.

A few days ago I noticed this freaky black, furry spider on the ceiling in the living room. Since it's a cathedral ceiling there was really nothing I could do about it I took a deep breath and ignored it, kept my eye on it, but ignored it (ha, ha). Then it disappearred for a couple days only to resurface this morning on my dining room table where I sat down to have my breakfast. I let out a yelp and jumped back which sent the dining room chair crashing to the floor. I was in a panic. What do I do?! Save my breakfast first!! Okay, breakfast is safe. Now, Casey, whatever you do don't let it out of your sight...and find something, anything to throw on it. I ran about it a tizzy for a minute and found Jeremy's Crutchfield magazine (sorry Jeremy). Then I tiptoed around the other side of the table to find the little villan looking at me with all eight eyes and front feet up in the air. Then he goes (all spiders are boys) on his merry way walking around the edge of the table as if to laugh in my face. I didn't dare make an attack for fear of missing him giving him the advantage to attack my feet. Okay, my chance was coming he was moving up on the table but no, not on my Mother's day card. I can't smoosh him on my first Mother's Day card. Well, I felt it was my only chance so I took it. SMACK! I threw the magazine down sending the crumpled spider and the magazine flying onto the chair...where they both stay because I am still too afraid of a dead spider to pick them up. The card is safe for those of you who were worried. Seriously, I need therapy. As for Brianna, she was sleeping this time so she has yet to witness her Mom's hysteria over something smaller than her own toe. -Casey

Goofball...

Little goofball layed like this for the longest time playing with the toy behind her, talking, smiling and laughing. I know it doesn't look comfortable but she sure enjoyed herself.

I was trying to sneak up on her to get a photo of her reaching down and playing with her feet. She caught me so this is what I got. I think it's actually way cuter.

Brianna update...

I thought I would give an update on some of the things Brianna is up to these days. Mostly for the Texans that don't get to see her...

Brianna had her 6 month appointment today. She is 17 lbs 9 oz and 27.5 inches long. She had two shots today and only cried for a few seconds. She is wearing some 6-9 month clothes but a lot of 12 month clothes already. We can't believe how fast she is growing. She is still primary nursing but is also eating cereal and has now had prunes and sweet potatoes. She likes it all. She is getting her next set of teeth. It seems it's going to be the top two, but we'll see.

Brianna can sit up on her own. In fact, she has sat in the grocery cart like a big girl for two weeks now. We've only had two wipe outs. Once she actually fell asleep in the cart and slumped over. She didn't even wake up when she hit the side of the cart. She went down for a nap as soon as we got home! She still does not like to be on her belly at all. We've been really trying to encourage her tummy time by getting on the floor with her and playing. She can roll over (and did it a bunch a few weeks ago), but really isn't interested in doing so anymore.

She is such a little ham. Wherever we take her she smiles and laughs at everyone. When people talk to her she smiles and then hides her face in our shoulders like she is shy. Then she peeks up and does it all over again. She loves to swing and be tossed around. We think she is going to be a roller coaster rider like her Mom and Dad. She likes her books...to read and to eat and loves her toys...of course. =) When we count we do it in English and Spanish and Grandpa talks to her in Spanish over the phone, which she thinks is funny.

What a joy and a blessing she is in our lives.

Lot's of updates from this weekend!!

Happy Mother's Day. =) Brianna got me our favorite Princess movie, "Enchantment." Jeremy bought me a Baby swing for Brianna. She LOVES to swing.

Brianna came with me to a Creative Memories "Croppin Cottage Weekend." This is my sister and I taking Brianna for a walk on the boardwalk by the water.

Uncle Zach is giving Brianna a guitar lesson. My family celebrated Mother's Day at the cottage on Lake Michigan. Odette and Katherine joined us. =)

On Monday my Mom was sick so Brianna came to work with me. She is such a big helper (ha,ha). In 8 hours I got about 4 hours of work done.

Surprise Visitor!!

Betsy surprised us by stopping in for lunch today. She had a test at the church right by our house so she stopped over. Her and Marcy stopped by yesterday but we weren't home. =( Thanks for stopping again Bets!!

MORE TEETH COMING!!!

Brianna has her top two teeth coming in now. It could still be awhile before they come in but it's pretty obvious by her sucking on her lip and rubbing her tongue over it a lot that they are making there way down. She has some cute little faces. ...oh, and the crankiness and congestion is a clue too. Poor baby. =(

New Babysitters...

So, my Mom was really sick on Wednesday and couldn't watch Brianna while I was at work. So, one of my bosses who doesn't work on Wednesdays came in the office and picked Brianna up and watched her for the day! So, I'm pretty sure that puts my employers on the Best Employers in the world pedestal. =) ...or maybe she just really wanted me to get my work done. Either way, it was great. She took some photos for me. She said Brianna was sitting on the floor sucking her fingers. The puppy would run by and she would get so excited that she would knock herself over. She got to see what it would be like to have a big brother for the day too. Little Erik kept asking, "What does she do?, What does she know?" He only has a big sister. =)

Happy 6 month Birthday to Brianna Today!!

Brianna had a little lamb, little lamb...

She loves this soft, cuddly lamb. She would hold it in front of her and study it then hug it, then study it, and hug it again over and over. So cute.
